Top military expert to hold a cyber security workshop at SCADA & Smart Grid Cyber Security Summit

This two-day streamed conference and exhibition will feature detailed case studies and will focus on the importance of tighter cybersecurity safeguards in the short term which will improve and contribute towards better long-term strategies.

Lieutenant Colonel (Ret'd) William Hagestad II, a military expert and author of the upcoming book "21st Century Chinese Cyberwarfare" (published by IT Governance Publishing), will hold a training workshop on "Chinese Cyber Security Threat" on the second day of the event.

In this workshop Hagestad will give an overview of the origins, history and composition of the 21st Century Chinese Cyber Warfare threat. An in-depth review of cyber incursion will be provided supported by case studies such as Ghost Net, Titan Rain, Night Dragon and others. Participants in the workshop will be able to explore the 21st century Chinese cyberwarfare threat to energy, gas and water utility companies. They will be able to discuss short and long term strategies as to how these can be tackled.
