TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - Arizona Men's Tennis is hosting an NCAA Tournament Regional for the second straight season.

The Wildcats faced Boise State in the first round, a familiar foe for several reasons. The two schools played each other in the first round last year (Arizona won 4-0) and Broncos head coach Luke Shields is Arizona Head Coach Clancy Shields' brother.

The Wildcats beat Boise State 4-0 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Arizona will play Auburn Saturday at 1 p.m.

Clancy and his Wildcats earned another victory over the Broncos, sweeping them 4-0 in the first round.

It was a back-and-forth battle in the doubles sets. All three matches went to tie breaks. Pairs Herman Hoeyeraal/Eric Padgham won 7-6 (4) and Colton Smith/Jay Friend won 7-6 (2) to put Arizona up 1-0.

Friend kept the momentum going in singles, winning 6-0, 6-3 in the no. 2 spot.

Casper Christensen cruised to a 6-3, 6-2 win in the no. 5 singles spot to give the Wildcats a 3-0 lead.

Nick Lagaev clinched Arizona's Pac-12 Tournament championship last week. He clinched the first duel match of the NCAA Tournament with a 6-4, 6-4 win.

Even though the Wildcats swept, they said they need to play a lot better in the second round. Click the video above to hear reaction from players and coaches.

9th seed Arizona will host Auburn in the Round of 32 Saturday at 1 p.m. The Tigers defeated Pepperdine in a close 4-3 decision in the first round.

Arizona Women's Tennis is also in action tomorrow. The Wildcats take on Oklahoma in College Station at 8 a.m.
